Gordie passed away peacefully on June 9, 2014 at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver, B.C., with his wife by his side, after a short and sudden illness.
Gordie is survived by his wife, Elaine (MacKenzie); son, Jason (Shelly); stepson, Troy MacKenzie; daughters, Trina, Tova (Calvin) and Thekla; his uncle, Louie Digero and 10 grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his father, Albert Digero and his mother, Gloria Digero (Holm).
Gordie was a long time Yukoner, and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion as well as being an elected member of their executive. He loved camping, fishing, hunting and boating, as was also a very talented musician. He was always there to give a helping hand, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He will be truly missed by all those who knew him.
A burial to celebrate Gordie's life will take place at a later date.
