ATWOOD, Rodney Ashton, 60, The Hawk, Shelburne County passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born at The Hawk on March 17, 1954, he was a son of Eileen (Penney) Atwood, South Side, and the late Samuel Atwood Jr. He loved playing cards and duck hunting. Besides his mother, he is survived by son, Derek (Trena), Weymouth; daughter, Julie Atwood, Dartmouth; brother, Gordon (Rose), North West Harbour; sister, Belinda (Sanford) Atwood, The Hawk; a grandson, Logan. Funeral service was held on Tuesday, August 5 from the H.M. Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Barrington, Rev. Bill Lea officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
