We regret to announce the passing of John Reginald Worthington, on Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro.
Born May 13, 1942, he was the only son of the late Reginald and Gladys (Moores) Worthington. John is survived by his children, Kyle (Laura), Rebecca (Damien) Wile, Truro; David (Martha), Sydney; Paul, California; Colleen (Alex) Castilloux, Michael (Marie), Sydney Forks; Trish (Stephen) Slade, Fort McMurray, Alta.; sisters, Shirley (Adrian) Coleman, New Brunswick; Joan (Lorne) Green, Ottawa, Ont.; Arlene (Late Ralph) Morrell, Truro; Patsy (Gerry Spencer) MacDonald, Glace Bay; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Delores (Curry) Worthington; second wife, Cindy (Carroll) Worthington. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young St., where John’s family will receive friends from 3-6 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014. Interment will be held in Onslow Island Cemetery at a later date.
