It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Darlene 'Dozey' (O'Donnell) MacPherson, 56, of New Waterford on Monday, Aug. 11, 2014, at New Waterford Consolidated Hospital.
Born in New Waterford, she was a daughter of the late Eddie and Loretta (Aucoin) O'Donnell.
Darlene enjoyed the simple pleasures in life; a cup of tea, a game of darts, Yahtzee, listening to live music and guitars. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Surviving are daughter, Kimberly (Paul Aucoin); son, Curtis (Katelyn); brothers, Pat (Evelyn), Ritchie, Steff, Brian 'Mugsy' (Florence), all of New Waterford; three grandchildren, Ashley Marie Aucoin, Brian Spinney and Miley Spinney.
Besides her parents, Darlene was predeceased by a brother, Jerry, sisters, Wendy, in infancy, and Patricia.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Aug. 14 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. A funeral mass of celebration will take place Friday, Aug. 15 at 10 a.m. in the Parish Church of St. Leonard, Mount Carmel Avenue, with Fr. Ray Huntley officiating. Cremation will follow with burial in Mount Carmel Cemetery at a later date. A luncheon will be held at the Army, Navy, Airforce, Unit 217, New Waterford immediately following the funeral mass.
