It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Morris McLean, age 72, on Monday, Aug. 11, 2014, at the Glace Bay Hospital with his girls at his bedside.
Born in Reserve Mines, he was the son of the late Fred and Maggie McLean.
Morris was a quiet gentleman with a big, kind, strong heart. Morris had great love for his family.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Carol (Timmons); his two daughters who he adored, Sherry and Lesa (Steve) McPhee; his precious grandchildren, Jocelyn (Andrew), Connor, Maria, Laura; his treasured great-grandson, Jace. Also surviving are his brothers, Butch, Winky, Gordie, Allie, Greg, Shelly, Kevin; sisters, Shirley, Sheila, Margie, Collette; a large family of in-laws; many adored nieces and nephews and a special love for Brent.
The boys will miss you “Big Moe”.
Morris was predeceased by his parents; an infant daughter, Cheryl Lynn,sisters, Sylvia and Sharon; an infant brother.
Morris was employed for 33 years by Devco until his retirement in 1993. Dad’s favourite place was home spending quality time with his family whether it be hobbies in the yard, fun silly adventures or special quiet times. He was a resident of the wonderful Victoria Haven Nursing Home for the past number of years.
A private family service will take place under the care of Patten Funeral Home, Glace Bay.
