Sadly, we announce the passing of Donna Lamond at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital on Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014, after a brief illness.
Raised in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Dan and Katie MacLeod.
After spending many years in Norwood, Mass., she returned to the Mira area with her husband, William 'Fraser' Lamond, who predeceased her in 2012.
Surviving are her brother, John 'Dunie' MacDonald, Harbourstone and his daughters, Judy (Gerry) Presse, Ottawa, and Ann (Malcolm) Lewis, Coxheath; grandniece, Tracey Presse, Ottawa; sister-in-law, Ann (Glayne) MacQueen and their family, Donald, Heather and Sara MacQueen, Front Lake.
Donna was predeceased by her sister, Matilda 'Tillie', brother-in-law, Robert Sharpe and their son, Bradley, Walpole, Mass.
There will be no visitation. A graveside committal service will be held at Oakfield Cemetery, Hillside, Mira on Friday 11 a.m., with Pastor Kevin Richardson officiating.Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
