It is with great sadness that we the family announce the passing of Bertha Poole on Thursday February 18, 2010 at Harbourstone Enhanced Care Facility.
Born in Mulgrave, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Clare Crittenden.
Bertha was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend, who enjoyed spending time with her family and talking on the phone. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Bertha is survived by her loving children, Janet (Rick) Young, Ontario, and Allan Poole, Sydney; four grandchildren, Heather Young, Robert Poole, Bradley Poole, and Jonathan Poole. She is also survived by siblings, Clara McNeil, Velma MacDougall, Jean MacPherson, David, Russell, Ivan, Charlie, Marvin, and Donnie Crittenden, as well as his many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Ted Poole, and her brother, Alvin.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place Sunday February 21, 2010 at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A memorial service will be held Monday February 22, 2010 in the funeral home chapel at 3 p.m. with Rev. Fred Rhymes officiating. Interment to take place at a later date.
