Age 53 of Cambridge, devoted wife of 36 years to Ralph McCarthy, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2014, Kings County Memorial Hospital, after a short battle with cancer, with family by her side.
Born January 18, 1961, Betty was the daughter of Hazel (MacRae) Acorn and the late Harold Acorn. She is survived by her loving children Shaun (Bethany) McCarthy, Geno (Kaitlin) McCarthy, Candice (Anthony) McCarthy; brothers and sisters, Anne Butler, Joseph Acorn, Nancy Acorn, Wade (Tanya) Acorn, Blair Acorn, Gary (Daisy) Murphy, George (Roxanne) Acorn, Dawn MacLaren; three cherished grandchildren, Alec, Bridget, Carson McCarthy; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Resting at Ferguson Logan Montague Funeral Home with visiting hours on Friday, August 15, 2014, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated from St. Paul's Catholic Church, Sturgeon, on Saturday, August 16, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in the parish cemetery.
