Melanie Norma Purcell of Riverview, passed away with her loving family at her side on Saturday, February 20, 2010 following a courageous battle with cancer at the Moncton Hospital. Born January 2, 1966 in Barnettville, NB, she was the daughter of Emmerson and Ruth (Mathers) Underhill.
Melanie was a customer service rep for ExxonMobil for the last 10 years. A graduate of Miramichi Valley High School. She received a degree from UNB in Office Management and her diploma in Theology from the United Pentecostal Bible Institute in Fredericton, while in Blackville Melanie taught school at the New Life Christian Academy.
Besides her parents, she will forever be in the hearts of her loving husband Greg and their three children; Candace, Breanne, and Brennan, sisters; Lori Curtis (Delton), Jackie Curtis (Eddie) and Becky Vickers (Bentley), brothers; Marty and Danny Underhill, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 at the New Life Pentecostal United Church in Blackville and on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 from Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview (869-2007). The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 24 at 1:00 PM from Cobb’s Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. McCausland officiating. The interment to follow at Alderwood Cemetery in Riverview. Donations to the Canadian Cancer society or to the donors choice would be appreciated be the family.
