Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's on Saturday, August 16, 2014, James 'Jimmy' Oliver of Gull Island, age 60 years. Predeceased by parents: James and Genevieve; sister: Elizabeth. Left to mourn, wife: Madonna; one daughter: Denise Oliver (Asif Sheikh), Ottawa, ON; one son: Trevor (Janine), Gull Island; three grandchildren: Brayden, Daniyal and Donovan; four brothers: William (Mary, deceased), Stephenville, John (Janice), Coburg, ON, Lawrence (Jenny), Western Bay and Maurice (Debbie), Gull Island; one sister: Mary (James) Traverse, Gull Island and also members of the Cox family and other relatives and friends. Rested at Noel's Funeral Home, Main Highway, Western Bay. Fr. Cesar Derit conducted the Funeral service on Wednesday, August 20 from Noel's Memorial Chapel, Western Bay. Interment took place in Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Cemetery, Northern Bay. Donations in his memory may be made to the James Oliver Memorial Fund.
