It is with heavy hearts that the family of the late Joan Mary McCarthy (nee Beaudion) of Reef's Harbour, announces her sudden passing at home on Friday, Aug. 15, 2014 at the age of 56 years. She leaves to mourn her devoted husband Andre and her two precious daughters Sarah (Cyril), St. John’s and Andrea, Reef’s Harbour; her mother Agnes Beaudion, Reef’s Harbour; her brothers Jerome (Krista), St. John’s, Paul (Frances), Prince Edward Island, Frances (Sharon), St. John’s and Perry (Bernice), Grand Prairie, Alberta; mother-in-law Una (Ed); brothers-in-law Brian (Vivian), Corner Brook and Rick (Tara), Deer Lake; sisters-in-law Faustina (Keith) Easton, Corner Brook, Alta (Ron) Waldorf, Lloydminster, Alberta and Carol (Brian) Parsons, Corner Brook; many nieces, nephews and great-nephew who she loved and adored each and every one of them; as well as many aunts, uncles, other family and friends; her former students and fellow workers at the Viking Trail Academy where she worked as a teacher devoting her precious time for a number of years. She was predeceased by her father Jerome (1996) and father-in-law Ralph (1995). Family and friends visited St. Margaret of Scotland Church in Reef’s Harbour starting Saturday 7:00 p.m. from where the funeral service was held on Monday, Aug. 18 at 3:00 p.m. with interment at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, flowers were graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Daffodil Place. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Port au Choix.
