It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Uncle Elmer on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at the Kyle Health Centre at the age of 87 years. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Uncle Elmer was the 6th child born to Ole and Mathilda Jacobson on the farm. He went to school and finished 11th grade at the Coteau School in Tuberose. Uncle Elmer took over the family farm and it was his greatest joy. He enjoyed being with his cattle or as he called them, his children. He loved the farm life - the peace and solitude but looked forward to company coming to visit. He liked to sit and talk or argue with whoever would drive out to the farm. Uncle Elmer was a happy person and was a joy to be around. Uncle Elmer was predeceased by his sister Dora Wick and brothers Ralph, Leonard, Norman, Orval and Henry. Elmer is survived by a brother Donald as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service was held on Monday, August 25, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Clearwater Lutheran Church in Kyle, SK. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society Saskatchewan (301 – 2550 – 12th Avenue, Regina, SK S4P 3X1).
