It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father, husband, son, brother, uncle and friend on Aug. 23, 2014.
He was the son of Marjorie (Doucette) and the late Michael 'Mickey' Gouthro.
Glenn was born and raised in Dominion. He was an avid baseball and hockey player in his younger years taking home many awards. Most of Glenn's working career was with Toronto Transit as a stationary engineer. He later moved with his family to Halifax where he was employed with HRM. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Halifax. Glenn was a very caring person who was always there to help someone in need.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret (Keough) Gouthro and son, Christopher of Halifax; mother, Marjorie Gouthro, Sydney; brothers, Michael (Gail), Dominion, Claude (Donna) Dartmouth, Andre (Chris), Ontario and Jeff (Erin), Alberta; sisters, Michele Leamon, Dartmouth, Paulette Macdonald, Dominion; brother-in-law, Hugh MacDonald, Dominion; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother in infancy and a sister at birth.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 27 in A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland St., Dartmouth. Funeral mass will be 12 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 28, in St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, 10 Maple St. Cremation will take place following the mass with burial at a later date.
Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association.
