Edna Waterfield

Edna Waterfield

Date de naissance : 21 août 2014

WATERFIELD, EDNA JOYCE - Edna Joyce Waterfield, 76, of Kingston, NS (formerly of Geary, NB). It is with excruciating, heartbreaking pain that we announce that our precious, beautiful Mom and Nanny passed away peacefully and went to see our Dad on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at the ICU in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Mom was surrounded by her family and wrapped in the arms of her daughter Lisa. Mom was born in Port Rexton, Nfld, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Randell. Edna was full of sass and a little stick of dynamite and could light up any room she walked into; she was a great friend, a loving, amazing mother, and the best Nanny anyone could wish to have. Nanny's life evolved around her babies Kevin and Keisha, who she has been with since birth, the world evolved around them. She had a love for ceramics, which became a ceramic business for 25 years. She has taught many people throughout those years and has lifetime friends because of it. Racing...my parents loved the Geary Speedway where they spent 19 years watching the car races (Glyn Nott) and being part of it...they had their own chairs and their favorite spot. Her hobbies were collecting jewelry of all types...if it was shiny then she needed to have it. She took on a love for rock tumbling, when you walk in her house all you would hear was the tumbling of the rocks. If we went away anywhere she would always ask for me to bring her home rocks. Once the kids moved out, her and Dad replaced us with their fur babies technically they became their new children and they doted on them hand and feet. Moose, BJ, Miss Molly and Cat with Collar kept them entertained day and night, they would be lost without them, they loved their babies. Edna was a very lovable, friendly, incredible women, which is why she quickly became a part of so many families; she was known as “nanny Edna to many” “mom to kids not her own” "Diane's Bingo Partner" “Vinnies girlfriend” and many other cute nicknames. She leaves behind lifelong friends too numerous to mention, but you know who you are including (my 2nd Momma Sadie). Edna touched so many lives and will truly be missed by many, but knowing her she will make her presence be known, even though she isn’t with us anymore. She is survived by her daughter Lisa Barrie (Michael Clark), Greenwood; sons Michael (Jodi Estabrooks), Brandon, Manitoba , Peter (Duff), BC, Ron, Alberta ; sisters Bessie (Kevin) Barker, NFLD, Irene (Wilson), and Brother Albert. The Loves of her lives were Grandchildren Kevin, Keisha, Ryan, Danielle, Noah, Hilary and Kaylee. She was predeceased by her husband Ed Waterfield (March 31, 2013); sisters Anne, Violet, brother, Roy and Sterling. At this time we want to thank Dr Michael Mindrum, Dr John Tucker, Andrea, Ann, Tanya and all the nurses of ICU who tried in vain to let me keep my Mom :( Thank you to all the VON girls who made her days full of sunshine, laughter and companionship...I love you all for that. There will be a Memorial Service for both my parents, Ed and Edna Waterfield. They spent their lives together, 54 years, they will go to Heaven together.
Donations in memory may be made to Oromocto SPCA. Visitation will take place August 29, 6 to 9 pm at the Oromocto Funeral home. Funeral service for both Ed and Edna will be Saturday August 30, 11am at the Oromocto Funeral Home, with reception to follow at the Oromocto Legion (Restigouche road).
