Thomas Coates was born in Eddies Cove East on June 25, 1931. He moved to L’Anse au Clair and there is where he married his wife Agnes. Thomas Coates passed away on Aug. 10, 2014. He leaves to mourn a large circle of nieces, nephews, and other family as well as a large circle of friends. He was predeceased by his wife Agnes, his parents Philip and Susanna, sisters Amy, Rita, Bessie, and Alice, brothers William, John, Edgar, Philip, Richard, and Reginald. Visitation was held at the St. Andrew’s Anglican Church in L’Anse au Clair from where the funeral service took place at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug.13, 2014 with Rev. Norman Cutler officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Homes, St. Anthony and Roddickton, Siobhan Mauger, funeral director.
