1937-2014. Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Thursday, September 4, 2014, Mr. George L. Petten of Port de Grave, aged 77 years. Predeceased by parents Chesley and Flora Petten (nee Andrews), sister Shirley Reid, brother Willie (Doreen) Petten and brother-in-law Golden Kennedy. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 54 years, Mrs. Nora Petten (nee Porter), daughter Charlene (Leonard) Elliott, sons: Colin (Geraldine) Petten, Carl (Ivy) Petten, Craig (Jackie) Petten; sisters: Blanche Kennedy, Mary (Allan) Petten, Grace (Bernard) Morgan, Flora (Ellis) Pittman; brothers: Chesley (Beulah) Petten, Reginald (Doreen) Petten, Byron (Joan) Petten; brother-in-law Melvin Reid, grandchildren: Christopher (Kimberley), Rebecca (Brad), Adam (Lori), Brittany (Matthew), Hannah, Aaron, Daniel, Andrew, Benjamin, Zachary, Abigail and Addison ; great-grandchildren: Grace, Cameron and Connor. Resting at The Pentecostal Tabernacle, Port de Grave. Visitation on Friday: 2 - 5 PM 7 - 9 PM; Saturday: 10 - 12 Noon, 2 - 5 PM, 7 - 9 PM; Sunday: 10 - 11 AM. Funeral Service to take place from The Pentecostal Tabernacle, Port de Grave on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at 2:00 PM. Interment to follow at the Pentecostal Cemetery, Port de Grave.
