Harold George MacLellan, age 73, Inverside passed away on Friday, Sept. 5, 2014 in Inverary Manor, Inverness.
Born in Inverness on April 30, 1941, he was a son of the late Malcolm and Annie (Gillis) MacLellan. He worked for many years at MacLellan’s Grocery, Inverness. Harold had a great love for horses. In his earlier years he raced horses at Inverness Raceway and at the Cape Breton Sport Centre in Sydney. He was an avid Toronto Maple Leaf’s fan and enjoyed playing cards with his friends. For the past number of years he resided in Inverary Manor, Inverness where he received excellent care.
He is survived by sisters, Elizabeth (Roland) Comeau, Saulnierville, Mary, Inverness; brothers, Jerome (Marlene), Stillwater Lake, Leonard (Joan), Waltham, Mass.; several nieces and nephews.
Harold was predeceased by brothers, Freddie, Johnny, Alexander, Malcolm, Gregory, and Eugene; sister, Marjorie.
Visitation will be held in Inverness Funeral Home on Monday, Sept. 8, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 11 a.m. in Stella Maris Church, Inverness with Fr. Duncan MacIsaac officiating, burial in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations, if you desire, to Stella Maris Parish Cemetery Fund, Inverness or to a charity of your choice.
