The death occurred at the Western Hospital, Alberton, on Monday, Sept. 8, 2014, of Claude J. Ellsworth of Waterford aged 97 years. He was born in Waterford on July 18, 1917, the son of the late Edward and Frances (Lynch) Ellsworth. He is survived by nephews and nieces Richard (Alice) Ellsworth, Tignish; Christine (Leonard) Murphy, Alberton; Irene (Stephen) Callaghan, Glenna Bennett, Lloyd and Kevin Ellsworth and numerous grand-nieces, nephews and cousins on and off the Island. He was predeceased by brothers Rev. Richard Ellsworth, Harry, Edward, Kenneth, Frank, Jordon and Louis, sisters Ruth, Irene, Alice, Kathleen, Margaret and Annie, niece Elizabeth Ellsworth and Peter Ellsworth. Resting at the West Prince Funeral Home, 522 Thompson Road, Palmer Road, for visiting hours Tuesday 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday from 12:30-1 p.m. Funeral will be held Wednesday, Sept. 10, at the Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road, with funeral mass at 1:30 p.m. Celebrant Rev.
