LOWERY, EDWARD A. - Edward A. Lowery, 82, of Moncton, with his loving family at his side, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Thursday, September 11, 2014. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Edward and Hilda (Atkins) Lowery. Edward was a retired LCol Pilot, R.C.A.F. / Canadian Forces (30 years) and Civil Aviation Inspector, Transport Canada (10 years). He was a member of St. Paul’s United Church, Riverview, the Air Force Association of Canada (AFAC) and the Sabre Pilots Association of Air Division Squadrons (SPAADS). Edward was an active Community volunteer with Riverview Public Library, Greater Moncton Literacy Council, National Adult Literacy Database (Fredericton), Moncton Red Cross and the Canadian Cancer Society. Edward will be sadly missed by his loving wife of over 60 years, Eleanor A. (Lyons) Lowery; daughters, Diane Lowery (Dan) of Orleans, ON and Carol Rea (Ryan) of Brandon, MB; son, David (Cheryl) of Calgary, AB; grandchildren, Jennifer, Andrew, Christopher, Jessica and Tristin; sisters, Mary Coleman of Moncton and Pearl MacDormand (late Robert) of Ajax, ON; brother, George F. Lowery (Marlene) of Darling’s Island; several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Private family graveside service to be held at Lakeside Cemetery, Lakeville at a later date. Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) in care of arrangements.
