The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Friday, Sept. 12, 2014, of Genevieve “Jenny” Pineau, of Summerside, aged 80 years. Born in St. Charles, she was the daughter of the late Maurice and Josephine (Doucette) Gallant. Survived by her children Marsha (Danny) Jones, Paula (Mike) Myers, Marcel Pineau, Michelle (Austin) Hogg; grandchildren Michelle (Chris), Marc and Michael; great-grandson Archer; brothers Harry (Isabelle) Gallant, Albert Gallant; sisters-in-law Della Gallant and Florrie Gallant; brother-in-law Oscar Hatch; and by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband Jeremiah “Bud” Pineau; brothers Robert, Elmer, Arthur, Peter and Cornelius Gallant; sisters Muriel Gallant, Georgina LaPointe and Helena Hatch; sister-in-law Mae Gallant; and brother-in-law Fred LaPointe. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, until Wednesday, then to St. Paul’s Church, Summerside, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Summerside. Visiting hours Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
