With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our brother Eldon Arthur, 73, on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014.
Born in Sydney Mines, he was a member of Carman United Church.
Eldon was the son of the late John and Gavinna (Stephenson) Chadwick.
Eldon's quiet and gentle manner endeared him to all the people he knew and loved.
He had a special and wonderful relationship with his mother who was his special keeper and closest ally.
Eldon was a special brother and will be remembered for his love of music and family and for the many rugs he hooked for Braemore Home.
Eldon was one of the finest rughookers in Cape Breton.
Eldon is survived by brothers, Gordon (Johena); best friends and caregivers, Sydney Mines, Bill, Calgary, John (Brenda), Point Aconi; sisters, Vena (Jim) Anderson, Sydney Mines, Ruth (Ernest) Quirk, Ontario, Lillian, Dutch Brook, and Cathy, Sydney; also many nieces and nephews. Eldon is also survived by his grandmother Margaret Stephenson and Aunt Mary (Fred) Imlay.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sister Jackie and his Uncle Bill Stephenson.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines, with a funeral service to take place at a later date.
