Henry Froese, age 85, of Success SK, went peacefully to be with his Lord and Saviour on Saturday, September 6, 2014, at the Cypress Regional Hospital, Swift Current, SK.
Henry was born on September 17, 1928, to Cornelius & Anna Froese. He grew up in the Cabri area and attended the Gavrelle School with his brothers. The Froese family moved to the Success area in 1945. As a young man, Henry worked for Sears in Regina and later for the CNR in Vancouver. He moved back to the Success area and worked for James & Sadie McCallum and eventually purchased their farm. In June 1964, Henry married Lois Ewert of Main Centre, SK. They were blessed with two children, Lori and David. Henry enjoyed farm life, growing grain, raising cattle and always keeping up with the latest in agriculture. He especially enjoyed farming with his son, David. They actively farmed together until the end of 2013. Henry had an incredible work ethic but always enjoyed a good visit with family and friends. He was a kind, honest and gracious man. Over the years, Henry served on the Eclipse Telephone Board, Snowplough Club, Sunday School Superintendent for the Success United Church, and also spent many years as chairman of the Success School Board. Left to cherish Henry’s memory are his daughter, Lori (Ron) Bergen of Saskatoon, SK; and his son, David (Loreena) Froese, of Swift Current, SK. He was predeceased by his wife, Lois, in November, 2013; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Cornie, Viola, George, David, Anne, Abe, and by Waldemar & Ruth Janz. As a family, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff for all their loving care, compassion and friendship during Dad's stay at the Cypress Regional Hospital.
The Celebration of Life Service was held on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 2:00 pm from the Bridgeway Community Church, Swift Current, SK, with Pastor Alvin Buhler officiating. The pianist for the service was Leona Knelsen with Pastor Dwayne Easton leading the congregation in singing, “Great Is Thy Faithfulness” and “Blessed Assurance”. The tribute was shared by Terrence Froese. Special music was brought by Pastor Dwayne & Rhonda Easton. The ushers in the church were Larry Caswell and Brian Murray. A Private Family Interment Service preceded the Funeral Service and was held at the Hillcrest Cemetery, Swift Current, SK.
