"Pulling anchor one last time and setting sail for his journey home." Passed away suddenly at his home on Monday, September 15, 2014, John Stanley Power, at the age of 64 years. Predeceased by his parents John and Maria (nee Barry), brother Leo, sister Betty, sister-in-law Berkie (Mahoney) McAllister and brother-in-law Alex Mahoney. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Patsy (nee Mahoney) of 37 years; daughters Jacqueline (Steve) and Jeanette; sisters Geraldine (Bill), and Kit (Don); brothers Fred (Marg), Charlie (Evelyn), and Gerrard; sister-in-law Carol Power; brothers and sisters-in-law of the Mahoney family; many nieces and nephews; his furry friend Lucifer; as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. Resting at Maher's Funeral Home, Placentia, with visitation on Wednesday, September 17th from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm, and Thursday, September 18th from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial to take place at Sacred Heart Church, Placentia, on Friday, September 19th at 11am. Interment to follow at Dermot McGettigan Memorial Cemetery, Southeast Placentia. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations can be made to the charity of one's choice.
