BARRY, HOWARD - Mr. Howard James Barry, husband of Elizabeth "Betty" (Nicholson) Barry passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at the age of 87. Born in Newcastle, NB he was the son of the late James W. and Elmina Barry. He was retired from Repap and a member of the Roman Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, Betty; his daughters, Linda Hughes (Jim) of Derby Junction, Pamela Hutchison (Randy) of Moncton, Gail Cormier (Danny) of Riverview and Karen Leverton (Dave) of Kitchener, Ontario; his sons, Eric of Miramichi and Jason (Melissa) of Waterloo, Ontario; his 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents.
Mr. Howard James Barry rested at Davidson’s Funeral Home, 597 Old King George Hwy, with visitation on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at 11 am at St Mary’s Roman Catholic Church with Father Tom Fowler officiating. Organist Susan Butler led St. Mary’s Senior Choir in “Here I Am Lord”, “The Lord’s My Shepherd”, “Eye Has Not Seen”, “Prayer of St. Francis”, “Songs of the Angels” and “Blest are They”. Readings were by Melissa Chetwynd and Tara Waye. Burial followed in the Our Lady of Good Council Roman Catholic Church Cemetery, Millerton. In his memory, donations to Our Lady of Good Council Roman Catholic Church Cemetery would be appreciated. Active Pallbearers were: Ricky Barry, Jason Barry, Brian Hughes, Jamie Hughes, Randy Hutchison and Dan Cormier. Honorary Pallbearers were: David MacKenzie, Frank MacKenzie, Guy MacKenzie, Jimmy Clancy, Chris McRae and Jim Hughes. Arrangements were in the care of Davidson’s Funeral Home, 622-7464 and online at www.davidsonfh.com, your family-owned, family-operated funeral home.
