LOBBAN, VERA E. - Miramichi – It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Vera Elizabeth Lobban, widow of the late J.H. Hazen Lobban of Loggieville, Miramichi. She passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Monday evening, September 29, 2014 following a brief illness. Born in Loggieville, 90 years ago, she was the only child of the late Clifford R. and Elizabeth L. (Davidson) Loggie. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, homemaker and a member of St. Andrews United Church, Miramichi. She was a dedicated Director of the Pine Grove Cemetery Committee holding the position of Secretary Treasurer for over 60 years. She a former member and Director of the Loggieville Golden Age Senior Citizens Club as well as a member of the Maude Jardine Unit of the St. Andrews UCW. She is survived by her twin sons, David (Noreen) and Donald (Sandra), both of Miramichi; five grandchildren, Philip (Kristian), Shawn, Matthew, Anne, and Mark. She was predeceased by her parents and by her husband Hazen (1988). She had a passion for reading, traveling with her husband and close friends and sharing her recollections as well as a great delight in gardening.
Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., on Thursday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held from St. Andrews United Church, Miramichi, on Friday, October 3, 2014, at 2 pm, conducted by Rev. Charlene Maguire MacKnight. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Loggieville, Miramichi. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Pine Grove Cemetery Fund, St. Andrews United Church or any charity of the donors’ choice would be appreciated by the family.
