Marie (Carmody) Ewashko
It is with great sadness that we announce Marie's passing at St. Boniface Hospital, Winnipeg, Manitoba on September 29, 2014, following a long battle with cancer.
Marie is survived by loving husband, Carl, daughter Sadie, son Robert, brother Eric (Helen) Carmody, Portland, Oregon.
Foster parents, Bob and Sheila Gibbs, Truro, N.S., cousin Faye (Howie) Pyke and Michael Webb, Amherst, N.S. and many Ewashko relativies.
She was pre-deceased by her Parents Betty and Ernest Carmody and brother Paul.
Marie's love of life took many turns. After growing up in Truro, she headed West, married a Ukranian farmer and raised a family in Erickson, Manitoba.
She worked as an Animal Health Technician, Girl Guide Leader and Ukranian Dance supporter.
In 2004, Marie changed careers and moved with her husband and family to Winnipeg, Manitoba, where she worked as an LPN and was involved with the Manitoba Nurses Union Local 140.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday, October 6, 2014 at St. Bernadette Parish, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
