(March 23, 1950 - October 4, 2014) - With broken hearts and profound sadness we announce the sudden passing of a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and great aunt. Her gentleness, radiant smile and devotion to her family give them strength during this difficult time. Betty was a long-time resident of Conception Harbour. She is predeceased by her parents Jim and Helen Barron, and brother Jim Barron (2013). Betty is held dear to many and leaves to mourn her husband Leonard; daughter Dana (Derrick Mahoney); precious grandsons Thomas and Jayden; sister Patricia Heath (Tim Summers); niece Sara (Robert King); nephew Eric Heath (Cindy) and their son Stanley; uncle Greg Barron (Margaret); sisters-in-law: Lillian Barron, Catherine Whelan, Gertrude Hawco (Leo); brother-in-law Gerald Whelan; along with numerous cousins, friends, fellow church volunteers and choir members. Resting at Flaherty's Memorial Funeral Home, Conception Harbour, Conception Bay Highway with visitation on Tuesday, October 7, from 1pm-9pm and Wednesday, October 8, from 1pm-9pm. Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, October 9, 2014, at 10:30am from St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church, Conception Harbour. Interment to follow in St. Anne's Cemetery, Conception Harbour.
