MUNN, EMMA MARY (DOIRON) - Emma Mary (Doiron) Munn passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at the Oromocto Public Hospital, surrounded by her family. Born on April 21, 1930 in Brantville, NB, she was the daughter of the late Marcel and Genevieve (Richard) Doiron. Emma was a member St. Andrew’s Anglican Church; past member of Secret Sisters Prayer Group; the Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #23 and the Doaktown Seniors Club. Emma was also a knitter for the Canadian Red Cross, Fredericton Branch. Emma is survived by her loving companion, George Betts; her children, Louisa Rice (Harold), Paulette Munn (Herb), Leona Lyons (Sterling), Wilma Munn (Doug), Arthur Munn (Maureen), Willard Munn (Peggy) and Regina Munn (Bob); grandchildren, Karen, Ray, Roy, Kelly, Christa, Susan, Freddie , Anita, Michelle, Adam, Nicole, Melissa, Willard, Christopher, Kevin and Corey; 22 great-grandchildren; a chosen great-grandson; two brothers, Albert Doiron (Louisa) and Allard Doiron (Azilda); two sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law; several nieces and nephews who were very special to her. Besides her parents and the father of her children, David Munn, she was predeceased by her infant daughters, Demerice and Janice; six sisters and five brothers.
Visitation will take place at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, New Bandon, NB on Friday, October 10, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Memorial Service will take place at St. Andrews Anglican Church, Doaktown, NB on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 2 pm with Rev. Dr. Brian Spence officiating. Interment will take place in St. Andrews Anglican Cemetery, Doaktown, NB. For those who wish an expression of sympathy may be made to the Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick; St. Andrews Anglican Church; Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary Branch #23 or the charity of the donor’s choice. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Oromocto Public Hospital-W.R. Duffy Unit for the excellent care and consideration of our Mother and family. Special thanks to Dr. S. Paulin and Dr. B. Sainz for their dedication and guidance. Thanks also to the staff at Terraces On Cliffe where Mum had taken up residence for over a year.
