It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear husband, father, brother and friend, Peter Thoms, formerly of Glace Bay on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014 in Dartmouth.
Born in Sydney, Peter was the son of the late Harold and Alice Thoms.
He owned and operated “Thoms Flowers” in Glace Bay for many years prior to moving to Dartmouth where he continued in the floral industry.
He is survived by his wife, Iris (Harris), daughters, Lisa (Rob), Alison, Carla (Cecil), his adoring grandchildren; Meghan, Samantha, Garrett, Ryan and Emma, his sisters, Iris Pickett (Stan), Mary Alice LeForte (Gerard) and brother, Robert as well as a large extended family and many friends.
He was predeceased by his infant daughter, Jennifer and brother, Frank.
Peter was a true family man who enjoyed celebrating many special occasions and gatherings at his home, “The Ranch”.
The family would like to express sincere appreciation to the EHS Staff as well as Dr. Howlett, Dr. Spencer and Nurse Mary of The Dartmouth General Hospital.
A private burial will take place. The family will receive friends from 2-4, Saturday, Oct. 18th at V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay.
