HUGHES, PHYLLIS DOREEN - It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Phyllis Doreen Hughes at the Nashwaak Villa Nursing Home on October 13th, 2014. Phyllis was born to the late William and Myrtle Patterson in Fredericton, NB on June 20, 1935 and was wife to the late James "Fred" Frederick Hughes. Phyllis was a caregiver throughout her life. When she wasn't taking care of her three children and husband, she could be found in her garden caring for her flowers and plants. Her love of caregiving also influenced her working career, working for a private firm tending to elderly. Phyllis is survived by her children, Stephen (Stacey) and Kevin (Andrea); daughter in law, Wendy Profit; four grandchildren, Shane, Shelby, Reese, and Jeremy; three step grandchildren, Matthew, Robbie, and Amanda; sister, Shirley Calhoun (Robert); nephew, William (Natalie) and his son, Lucas; niece, Melissa (Tyler Laverne) and "Uncle Al". She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Fred and son, Wayne.
There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service for Phyllis will be held at the J.A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Monday, October 20th, 2014 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Kelly Burke officiating. An interment will follow the service at the Lower Lincoln Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial donations can be made to the Lower Lincoln Cemetery.
