It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Eileen Murphy, on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Irene (Penny) Sampson.
Eileen worked for Sears for many years, beginning in Halifax. In 1961 she moved to North Sydney with her husband Bill, raised their family and returned to Sears, where she was a familiar face until her retirement in in 1993.
Eileen is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Bill Murphy; her daughter Michelle (Dan) Magee, Lawrencetown, N.S.; son Peter (Alice) Murphy, Sydney Forks; her three precious grandchildren, Katie, Kimberley, Peter Jr.; sister Lorraine Murphy, Lower Sackville; brother Ernest (Mary) Sampson, Pembroke, Ont.; sister-in-law, Elaine (Harry) Banfield, Hamilton Ont., and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother Henry and brother-in-law, George Murphy.

In accordance with Eileen’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Burial will take place at a later date.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, North Sydney.
