Peacefully, surrounded by her family, at Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Wednesday, October 15, 2014, of Kathleen "Kay" Elizabeth Newcombe of Tyne Valley, aged 89 years, wife of the late Horace Newcombe. Born on February 2, 1925, in Montrose, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Inez (Gorrill) Dyment. Loving mother to Jackie, Summerside; Ron (Joyce), Orwell Corner; Charlene (Brian) Williams, Edmonton, AB; Leslie, Halifax; Donald (Pam), Stratford; and grandmother to Carl, Christine, Avril, Kurt, Penny, Atley, Kevin, Mark, Vanessa, Paul, Andrea, Andrew and eight great-grandchildren. Kay is also survived by sister Joyce MacLennan, Port Hill; brothers-in-law Henry Birch, Birch Hill; George Millar, Tyne Valley; and sister-in-law Delores (Don) MacDonald, Charlottetown. Kay was predeceased by her parents, stepmother Glenn Dyment, husband, daughters-in-law Cheryl and Judy, brother Wendell (Verna), sisters: Eleanor (Bill) Conkey, Laura Birch, Marion Senick, Wilna Millar; sister-in-law Muriel (Waldo) MacDougall and brother-in-law Kelvin MacLennan. Resting at Ferguson Tyne Valley Funeral Chapel with visiting hours on Friday, Oct. 17, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral will be held on Saturday at St. James Anglican Church, Port Hill, at 11 a.m. Interment to follow in St. James Anglican Church Cemetery. In memory of Kay, memorials to Prince County Hospital Foundation Palliative Care Unit or St. James Anglican Cemetery would be appreciated.
