CLARK, GEORGE S., D.C.M. - 1920 - 2014 - Miramichi - George Stanley Clark, husband of Marjorie (Marnie) Clark, of King George Highway, Miramichi, (formerly Millbank), who passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital early Sunday morning, at the age of 94. Born in Millbank, he was the son of the late Harold S. and Lillie G. (Leslie) Clark. He was retired employee of the Dept. of National Defense, at the former CFB St. Margarets Radar Base, working in the pump house facility. He was a member of Bethel United Church, Miramichi. He was a Veteran of the Second World War, served with the North Shore Regiment overseas and a recipient of the D.C.M. (Distinguished Conduct Medal); a member of Branch # 3, Royal Canadian Legion, Miramichi. He is survived by his wife, the former Marjorie Carruthers; one daughter, Elaine Dorbyson, of Saint John; two sons, Kenneth Clark (Gay) and Wesley Clark, all of Miramichi; one sister, Lorna Dickson, of Miramichi; one brother, Les Clark, of Miramichi; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one son, Bobby Clark; four brothers, Earl, Charles, Robert and David Clark; one sister-in-law, Anne Clark; one brother-in-law, Grear Dickson.
By his request there will be no visiting at the funeral home. A public funeral service will be held from Adams Funeral Home Chapel, 140 King St., Miramichi, on Thursday, October 23, 2014, at 2 pm, conducted by Wendell Gregan. Interment will be in the Moorefield Cemetery, Miramichi, N.B. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Bethel United Church or any charity of the donors’ choice would be appreciated by the family.
