FRYE, DIXIE LOU - At the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on October 21, 2014, Mrs. Dixie Lou (Pendleton) Frye, wife of Mr. Donavon C.Frye of Deer Island, NB. Born at St. Stephen, NB on November 5, 1952, she was a daughter of the late Maurice and Flossie (Brown) Pendleton. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, in addition to her husband Donavon, Dixie is survived by three daughters: Stacy (Preston) Hooper of Pennfield, NB, Josey (John) Brown and Mandy (Joey) Mitchell both of Deer Island, NB; six grandchildren: Dylan, Janelle, Dalton, Mallory, Parker and Sawyer; two brothers: Roy Pendleton (Karen Andrews) of Deer Island, NB and Clifford (Kim) Pendleton of Bocabec, NB; three sisters: Judy Stuart (Jeff Justason) of Deer Island NB, Joan Pendleton (Danny Frost) of Second Falls NB and Alica Pendleton of St. Stephen, NB; one uncle: Keith Pendleton of Deer Island, NB and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Dixie was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed spending her free time with her cherished grandchildren. She was an Artist in her younger days, painting beautiful works of watercolor and was also musical, playing the mandolin when she had the chance. Dixie enjoyed her winters in Florida, a true snow bird, she loved the Florida Sun and enjoyed boating and golfing her winters away. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Dixie was a longtime member of the Lord's Cove Church of Christ, Lord's Cove NB.
Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB. Resting at the Lord's Cove Church of Christ with visiting on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The service will be held from the church on Saturday at 2 pm with Rev. Glenn Cox officiating, assisted by Rev. Jonathan Hatt. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Charlotte County Cancer, The NB Heart & Stroke Foundation or to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
