Hedwig Martha Tesche (Kilgus) passed away on September 10, 2014 in Dawson Creek, British Columbia at 91 years of age.
Hedwig was born in Balingen, Germany on June 5, 1923, the youngest of 15 children. In 1960, Hedwig and her daughter moved to the Judah district near Peace River, Alberta.
There she married Walter Tesche, a widowed farmer with five children. They farmed together until Walter passed away in 1984, after which she moved to a quarter section near Progress, British Columbia. Hedwig loved her house in the country, where she enjoyed the wildlife and birds, and visits with the neighbours. She always had coffee and sweets ready for guests and ice cream for the grandchildren. Most of all, she loved being Oma to all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Hedwig will be remembered by all for her compassion and her caring spirit.
Hedwig is survived by her daughter Doris McCarlie, step-children Eugene, Marion, Richard, John, and Joseph Tesche, grandchildren Mike, Billy, Rob and Jennifer,
great-grandchildren Sara, Alyssa, Elizabeth, Dustin, Kierra and Tymea, and numerous step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral Services were held September 13, 2014 at the Bergeron Funeral Chapel in Dawson Creek with internment in the Brookside Cemetery, also in Dawson Creek.
