Janet Katherine DesRoches – 77, Truro, N.S., passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at Vimy Court, Bible Hill, N.S., with her family by her side. Janet was born in Summerside, PEI, on December 29, 1936, and was a daughter of the late Wendell and Marguerite (Doucette) MacInnis. Janet was very active in the life of Immanuel Baptist Church in Truro participating in Bible study and music. She was a member of the church choir for many years. Janet enjoyed sewing, crocheting and knitting. She also served as a caregiver. Janet is survived by her daughter, Ann (Darrell) Clyke, Truro; sons, Alan (Arlene), Hampton, NB, Andy (Rebecca), Dubai, United Arab Emirates; grandchildren, Jason, Caleb, Emily, Olivia, Jonathan, Sam, Davita; one great-grandson, Cartel; sisters, Beryl MacKinnon, Pennsylvania, Olive MacInnis, Saskatoon; brothers, Dennis (Stacy) Kelowna, BC, Donald, Edmonton, Billy, Vancouver, Jerry, Kamloops, BC; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Gilbert; son, Daniel Edward; sister, Myra Evans. Visitation will be held on Sunday, Nov. 9, from 6-8 p.m. in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro. Memorial service on Monday, Nov. 10, at 2 p.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church, 295 Young Street, Truro, with Rev. Cory Somers officiating. Interment in Lower Onslow Clarke Cemetery.
