Florence Eileen Goodwin

It is with sadness that we must announce the passing of Florence Eileen Goodwin, age 91, of West Amherst. Florence passed away peacefully at Gables Lodge, Amherst on Wednesday, November 5, 2014.
Born in West Amherst, she was a daughter of the late Lloyd and Alice (DesRoches) Coulson.
Florence was a member of the Salvation Army, and volunteered at the Salvation Army Thrift Store for 8 and a half years, as well as the Salvation Army Home League She also volunteered for 8 years at Gables Lodge. Florence was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great and great great grandmother. She devoted her time to helping others, especially her husband and son during their illnesses.
She leaves to mourn, daughter Edith Taylor, Amherst; 9 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 13 great great grandchildren; brother Ray (Racheal) Coulson, Amherst and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Chesley, son Harvey, son-in-law Jack Taylor; sisters Vera Coulson, Hazel Goodwin, Edith Noiles, Vivien Morris; brothers Lloyd and Hazen and one infant brother.
Florence's arrangements have been entrusted to Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Amherst, NS (902-667-8777) where visiting hours will take place on Sunday from 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will take place at the Furlong~Jones Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, November 10, 2014 at 11 am, Capt. Chad Ingram officiating. Burial will follow in the Amherst Cemetery.
