SEARS, John Robert Corbett, 75, died Thursday, November 13, 2014 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital surrounded by family. Born in Clam Point, he was a son of the late John Albert and Mildred Louise (Nickerson) Sears. John was a fish plant worker all his working days. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Elizabeth (Hines) Sears; sons, John Wayne (Janet), New Germany, Brian (Lisa) Wilson, Truro; daughters, Lisa (Jed) Sears, South Side, Cape Sable Island, Suzette (Flavien) Wilson, Newellton; sisters, Lorraine Shand, Shelburne, Flora Atkinson, Doctor’s Cove; grandchildren Sasha, Talent, Kyle, Gary, Cory and Matthew. He was predeceased by brothers, Fernwood and Edwin; sisters, Mary, Rowena, Vivian, Barbara Jean, Phyllis, Bernice and Vera. Cremation has taken place. No visitation or funeral. John spent many hours in his barn creating folk art. He was very proud of his paintings and decoys. He enjoyed for company to stop in and stay as long as they liked and to enjoy his newest creation. His work travelled across the world and he was proud to share his experiences with all who stopped in to chat. His children and grandchildren never left empty-handed when visiting, whether it be a decoy, buoy or a painting. You had to take Gramp’s famous art creations home on every visit. Many knew him as honest John as he spent his younger years on the CB set making friends all over the world.
You will always be in our hearts.
Love you Dadda… Lisa, Suzette, John Wayne and Brian and your loving wife, Brenda
