The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by her family at Summerset Manor, Summerside, on Friday, November 21, 2014, of Zelma Marie (nee Arsenault) Gallant who resided at Le Chez Nous Ltd. and formerly of Urbainville, at the age of 91 years. Born in St. Chrysostome on June 17, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Philimon and Roséline (nee Gallant) Arsenault and was the last surviving member of her family. Beloved wife of the late Edmond Gallant and loving mother of Eldon Gallant of Toronto, Erma (Gabriel) Arsenault of Wellington, Ulric (Lucille) Gallant of Urbainville, Ronald (Lynne) Gallant of Summerside, Simone Gallant (Francis LeBlanc) of Dieppe, and Christine (Marcel) Cormier of Scodouc. She is lovingly remembered by her 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Zelma was predeceased by her parents, husband and two children Corinne and Ernest. Resting at the Evangeline Coop Funeral Home, Urbainville, until Monday, Nov. 24, then to St Philippe and St. Jacques Church, Egmont Bay, where funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, Nov. 23, from 6 to 9 p.m. only. Memorial donations in Zelma’s memory to Le Chez Nous Ltd. or to the Evangeline Coop Funeral Home Building Fund would be greatly appreciated.
