It is with great sadness that we, the family of Gladys Jean Nash announce her passing on Tuesday, Nov. 25 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Glace Bay in 1936, Gladys was the daughter of Edward Michael (Mick) and Ina (Clark) King.
Gladys was a member of Newsom United Church in Glace Bay. Gladys loved playing darts, going to her guitar club and was also very artistic, doing several paintings and carvings over the years.
Gladys is survived by her son, Ronnie, Glace Bay; daughters, Rhonda (John Curtis Sampson), Glace Bay and Brenda (Doug Innes), Windsor, Ont.; grandchildren, Natasha and Nicole Nash, Tyler Gilmet, Emma Innes and her cocker spaniel, whom she loved dearly, Fergus.
Gladys was predeceased by her husband, Clayton Nash; son, Brian and brother, Michael 'Mick' King.
The family would like to thank Dr. Jensen, Dr. Archibald and all the nurses and staff who cared for her during her illness in both Glace Bay Healthcare Complex and the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Visitation will be held at Patten Funeral Home on Monday, Dec. 1, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Gladys’ life will be held at Newsom United Church, 53 Dominion St., Glace Bay on Tuesday, Dec. 2 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Donald J. MacDonald officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall next door.
