Leonard Crossman

Leonard L. Crossman, 73, of Diligent River passed away Saturday, November 29, 2014 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan.
Born in Ward’s Brook, he was a son of the late Robert and Gladys (Boutilier) Crossman.
Leonard was employed with Fina, later retiring from Petro Canada after more than 35 years’ service.
A dedicated family man, the greatest joys of his life were his grandchildren. Leonard and his family, over the years, spent many summers camping and often travelling with good friends to many different spots, as well as enjoying his property in Diligent River.
He also loved music, in particular Bluegrass and Old Time Country and played his guitar for many years at numerous musical festivals and community functions. He had a terrific knowledge of cars, particularly antique cars.
He is survived by his wife, the former Marjorie MacLeod; a daughter, Lorrie Weir (Mike), Moncton; a son, Robert (Lisa), Mt. Airy, MD; grandchildren, Michael, Timothy and Emma Weir, all of Moncton; Claire and Samuel, both of Mt. Airy.
He was predeceased by a sister, Viola; brothers, Everett, Leslie and Welesley.
Visitation took place Monday, December 1, 2014 at Smith’s Funeral Home, Parrsboro, where funeral service was held on Tuesday [December 2, 2014], Pastor Philip Scott officiating. Burial in the Riverbank Cemetery, Port Greville. Reception followed in the FPW Community Hall.
