James Ryan passed away at home surrounded by family on Nov. 21, 2014 in Petawawa, Ont.
Born Oct 22, 1936 in Glace Bay, N.S., Jim was 78 years old.
Jim was the son of the late William Ryan & Mary Agnes (McIntyre) of 33 School St., Glace Bay.
Beloved husband of Liette Fletcher (Lachance). Loved father of Jana (Brent), Rona (Dave), both of Petawawa and Dena (Chuck) from Stittsville.
Good friend to Christine (Mark), Jason (Laurie) & Tracey (Michael).
Loving grandfather to Tanner, Brady, Kyle, Mallory, Avery, Ethan and Liettes' grandchildren, Sarah, Paris, Spencer, Felicity, Sydney & Kylie.
Jim is survived by his sister, Mary (Dennis), Barbara (Michael), Elaine (Jaan), Annette (Fred). Brothers, Frank (Alice), Patrick (Sylvia), William (Vivian) and John. Brother-in-law to Betty. First wife Lorna.
Jim took early retirement from the military. He attended Loyalist Community College, Belleville, Ont. to become a real estate broker/property appraiser. Jim had a successful second career in real estate over a span of 33 years.
Predeceased by brother, D'arcy and sisters, June, Sister Marcella & Carrie (late Charlie)
A funeral mass was celebrated in Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, Petawawa, Ont., Nov. 26th, followed by cremation. Interment in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Lapasse, Ont.
