JUDITH MAE WHITE

JUDITH MAE WHITE

Judith Mae White began her life on October 17, 1950 in Calgary, Alberta. Soon to follow were her siblings Angela, Donald and Dianne.
Judi raised three children, Angela, Daren and Daryl. She met the love of her life, Jim White in 1983 and they married in 1987 in Edmonton, Alberta. Jim and Judy relocated to the Sunshine Coast in 1993, originally to Sechelt, and then finally settling in Gibsons. For many years Judi inspired the creation of many projects dedicated to helping children and families in need. In recent years she worked both on and off the Sunshine Coast for such agencies as the Sunshine Coast Community Services Society and the Urban First Nations Society (New Westminister).
One of Judi’s honours was being named an honourary elder twice; the second time by the Sechelt Nation. Judi’s traditional name is ‘Grandmother White Owl’
Her spouse, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. Judi cherished numerous and longtime dear friends. She had an inspiring sense of humour and was known to be a practical joker. She loved to decoupage and draw and crafted many gifts for friends and family.
After a lengthy illness, Judi passed peacefully from this world on December 5, 2014 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Sechelt.
Judi leaves behind her husband, Jim White; her son Daryl and his family Tyler and Adam, her son Daren and his family, Connor and Ruby, and her daughter Angela (& Andrew) and their family; Janna (& Shaun) and grandsons Erik & Carter, Michael and Bridget; Judi’s sisters Angela and son Jason; Dianne and daughter Brandi; and her father Norman Milne; and extended family. She was predeceased by her mother Isabelle Milne (2000) and her brother Donald (2014). Judy also leaves behind numerous, dear friends.
A Celebration of Life/Memorial Service was held at the Gibsons United Church (in Lower Gibsons).
If so desired, friends may donate to the charity of their choice benefitting children, and their families; particularly those residing on the Sunshine Coast.
