Patrick Whidden

Date de décès : 6 décembre 2014

WHIDDEN, Patrick Kirk – age 25 years died December 6, 2014. Born in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, he was the only son of Howard Kirk Whidden and Denise Aspinall. He graduated from Horton High School in Greenwich, Nova Scotia (2007). Patrick was active throughout his school years in soccer, basketball, badminton, karate and skiing. He also loved music and took lessons in guitar and drumming. He was often known to “entertain” his friends and family with his persistent beatboxing. In middle school, Patrick hosted a young Japanese student in the family home in Port Williams. The following year, Patrick journeyed to Japan as the youngest student in a return exchange program. Upon graduation, Patrick travelled to Alberta and worked in construction, on oil rigs and with pipelines. In school and beyond, Patrick was a popular, gregarious and loving person who was generous to strangers and friends alike. Patrick shared an interest, like his father, in collecting vehicles and motorcycles. Whether on the ski hill or elsewhere, Patrick had a fearless nature and a sense of adventure. These traits occasionally got him into trouble, but also endeared him to a large group of loving friends, both in Nova Scotia and Alberta. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his
father H. Kirk Whidden (Mary Niemi ); mother Denise Aspinall (Aran
Silmeryn); one sister, Michelle Whidden; aunts and uncles, Shirley Vail
(Allan Vail), Mary Ann Whidden (Tom Cosman), Janet Blood (Leonard Blood) and
Catherine Roberts (John Roberts); cousins, Abby Whidden, Simon Cosman, Ivan
Cosman, Margaret Vail, Nicholas Vail, Andrea Howard and Liane Burns. A memorial and celebration of Patrick’s life will take place on Saturday, January 10th at 2PM at the Port Williams Community Centre Auditorium located at 1037 Hwy 358, Port Williams, NS. Condolences may be sent to PO Box 312 Port Williams, NS B0P 1T0. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Student Bursary Fund at Landmark East School, Wolfville, NS.
