It is with heavy sadness that we announce the passing of Lois Lillian Green, 76, of Sydney River. Lois passed away peacefully with her family at her side at the Cove Guest Home.
Lois was born in Sydney in 1938 and was the daughter of George and Helen MacLean.
Lois is survived by her very devoted husband of 55 years, Ivan Green, who was always at her side.
She will be dearly missed by her children, Carla Sandalis (Mark Sampson), Lisa (Joe) Gale, and Lorne Green."Nanny" was adored by her four grandchildren, Bryan and Nicole Sandalis and Lauren and Erin Gale. Lois is survived and missed by her brother, Roy Kerr and sister, Kathy MacLeod.
Besides her parents, Lois is predeceased by sister Jackie Hamm.
Lois will be so dearly remembered as a loving wife, grandmother and friend. She was always so kind to others with her warm, welcoming smile. Lois was member of the Sydney River United Protestant Church. She worked at Central Trust in Sydney and enjoyed spending summers with her family and friends at 'the bungalow' in Red Islands and sharing great times with her friends known as 'The golden' girls. Lois was well known for her quick wit and her wonderful sense of humour.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Monday, Jan. 5, 2015, at 3 p.m. in the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, with Rev. Dana Feltmate officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Lois’s memory can be made to a charity of ones choice.
