The death occurred at the Margaret Stewart Ellis Home, O’Leary, on Thursday, January 1, 2015, of Marie Maude Blanchard, O’Leary, age 84, wife of the late Bennie Blanchard. Born on February 19, 1930, in Dunblane. Daughter of the late William and Lulu (nee Bulger) MacDonald. Dear mother to Darlene Betts (Blair Graham), Forestview, and Russell (Cindy) Veniot, West Point. Loving grandmother to Heidi (Jason) Chaisson, Miminegash; Daniel (Lindsay) Betts, Milo; Jamie Veniot, Dunblane; Heather (Terry) Buote, Alaska; Jonathan (Christina) Veniot, Dunblane; and Jenna Veniot, West Point, 16 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Marie is also survived by brother Oliver (Anna) MacDonald, West Point; and Carol Ann (Harvey) Collicutt, Springfield; sisters-in-law Phyllis MacDonald, Charlottetown; Leta MacDonald, O’Leary; and by Aunt Olive Daley, West Point. Marie was predeceased by her parents, husband Bennie, brothers Edison and Willis MacDonald. Resting at the Ferguson Funeral Home and Chapel, O’Leary, with visiting hours Saturday, Jan. 3, 6-9 p.m. Funeral service at West Point Presbyterian Church Monday, Jan. 5, at 11 a.m. Interment to follow in the West Point Presbyterian Cemetery.
