The family of Gus Matheson of Halifax, N.S. sadly announce the passing of their beloved husband, father and grandfather on Jan. 2, 2015.
Gus (82) was the husband of Jean (Grant) Matheson from Pictou, N.S. for 56 years.
Father to Carrie McNair (Tim), Halifax, Gail MacLeod (Keith), Calgary and Pamela Margeson (Robert), St. Margaret's Bay. Brother to Elsie Wilford (Bill), Oliphant, Ont., Eleanor Harris (late Don), Scarborough, Ont. and the late John Matheson (Leone), Owen Sound, Ont. Uncle Gus (Ug) to his nieces and nephews.
Grandfather to Ainsley and Braden MacLeod, Calgary, Alta.
Gus born in Kincardine, Ont. on April 19, 1932, joined the RCMP in May of 1951 and retired after serving 30 years in several Nova Scotia and Cape Breton towns. He later relocated to Owen Sound, Ont.
Gus enjoyed boating, traveling, his circle and spook friends and was very creative and artistic. His stained glass pieces are cherished by many family and friends.
Our family would like to thank the many people who helped Gus after his stroke.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, per his wishes.
