It is with heavy hearts we must pass along the news of Allan’s passing on Jan. 6, 2015, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born and raised in Edwardsville, he was a son of the late Herman and Sarah (Cormier) Rudderham.
Allan was always known for his kind heart and joking manner as well as his storytelling to his grandchildren. He loved watching a good game of hockey or an ice fishing trip, along with his trips to the bungalow in Grand River. Allan worked for Rudderham Well Drillers as well as the International Coal Piers where he retired from.
Allan is survived by his wife of 62 years, the former Mary Barrie; son, Wendell (Cindy) and their children, Natasha (Colin), Tiffany (Stuart), Travis, Kendell (Daniell) and Ryan; daughter-in-law, Debbie and her children, Amanda (Herve) and Tyler; great-grandchildren, Brynn and Landon; stepdaughter, Kaye and stepson, Bobbie; brothers, Hermie and Dennis; sister, Deana as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son, Calvin and grandson, Tim; sisters, Mable, Beverly; brothers, Max and Chippy.
Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in the SW Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney. Funeral will take place 11 a.m., Friday in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating.
