HAMER, DORIS - (1922 - 2015) - Doris Hamer, 92 , passed away on Thursday, January 8th, 2015 at The Salvation Army Lakeview Manor, Riverview. She was a former resident of Wilmot Avenue in Riverview. She was born in Montreal in 1922, the daughter of the late Herbert Edward and Lillian May (Jarrett) Taylor. She was predeceased by her husband Ed (Edward Arthur) and sister Kathleen (Walter) Bidwell. Doris is survived by sons Douglas, Allan (Joyce) and daughter Cathie (Ralph) Dingwell. Also surviving are grandchildren Jennifer, Scott, Laura, Amanda, Christena, Michael and eight great grand children. Doris worked, before raising her family, at the former Coverdale Interprovincial Home for Women in Riverview. She was also a past volunteer and Commissioner with the Girl Guides of Canada and an honourary life member. A sincere thank you to the dedicated staff at Lakeview Manor for the professional and compassionate care Doris received while in their care.
Funeral arrangements are in the care of Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995); there will be no visitation. A service to celebrate Doris’ life will be held at St. George’s Anglican Church, 51 Church Street, Moncton on Monday, January 12, 2015 at 11:00 am with The Rev’d Chris VanBuskirk officiating. Reception following the service. Interment will be in the Wesleyan Union Cemetery, Coverdale Road in Riverview.
