WILLIAMS (KEARNEY), JOAN MARIE - May 25 1927 – January 7 2015 -
Joan Marie Williams (Kearney) born in Minto, May 1927, the daughter of Hugh and Agnes Kearney, passed away quietly on January 7th in Miramichi Regional Hospital. Joan had a strong family focus all her life and enjoyed many great summers at Grand Lake NB with the family all gathered around her. She grew up in Minto, met John, they were married and moved to the Miramichi where they spent their lives together. She was predeceased by her husband of more than 60 years, Brothers John and William Kearney and Sister Eleanor Grant (Kearney). Joan is survived by her brother Tom Kearney, Grand Lake, Sons, Hugh (Stephanie) Williams, Debec, Thom (Kim) Williams, Nova Scotia, Daughter ,Eleanor (Maurice) King, Ontario, Grandchildren Travis, Lance, Shaun, Dylan, Jesse, Joel, Josh, Colbee, John, Liam and Riley. She also has 7 great grandchildren. Joan is further survived by her faithful companion of 12 years, Sassy, who still looks for her. The family would like to acknowledge, with great appreciation and sincere gratitude the wonderful team of care givers who often went above and beyond in providing excellent, in home care for Joan. Without your special talents we would have never been able to provide Mom with the opportunity to remain in her home. You are all angels in our eyes. Also a special thanks to the nursing staff at the Extra Mural services, Dr. Gerard Losier and the staff at the Miramichi Regional Hospital and the pharmacists at Scott’s Pharmasave.
Visitation will be Sunday January 11th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm at Maher’s Funeral Home, 35 University Avenue, Miramichi and the funeral mass will be Monday January 12th , 11 am at St. Michael’s Basilica, 10 Howard St, Miramichi with Fr John Fraser officiating. A reception will follow the service. She is loved and will be greatly missed, but she is now in a better place and reunited with John. We love you mom.
